Andrew Micklefield

Canon Treasurer, Winchester Cathedral; Winchester Diocesan Synod; Winchester Board of Finance & Bishop's Council; General Synod

Andrew has been ordained for 19 years all of which he has served in Winchester Diocese.  Before ordination he was a Primary School Teacher & Deputy Headteacher.  He has served as a Foundation Governor in a number of Church of England Primary Schools, regularly leading Collective Worship and Festival Services, contributing the RE and PSHE curriculum and helping through SIAMS inspections.  In his current role he has oversight of the Learning Team and the strategy to engage students of all ages.

The DBE has a fundamental role in supporting and encouraging Church of England schools across our two dioceses and for Andrew that is exciting and yet challenging in the society we live and minister in.  In Andrew's view, every one of the children in our schools is unique and valued in God's kingdom and that focuses our efforts and attention.  The DBE exists to allow these children to flourish and grow in the image of God. That is an awesome responsibility.

As the parent of four children with very different educational needs, she has long been interested in the impact of education on children and young people.
